Yogurt, Aloe Vera or Cling Film?

Following on from my last post, you will be pleased to hear that Messy Church went very well indeed.
Unfortunately, I burnt myself on the oven and so next time will be wearing something similar to the picture opposite.
Lots of advice as to what I should do to minimise the after effects of the burn. It was run under freezing cold water for two lots of 5 minutes, it had a pack of frozen onions placed on it until I started to smell like a burger bar. Butter and yogurt were suggested!!!! Things were starting to resemble the beginnings of a night at the curry house (onions, yogurt, butter......!!)
A friend kindly went home to cut the branches off her Aloe Vera plant so I could rub the sap into the burn. Apparently, her plant did not sacrifice itself in vain, this seemed to work.
Someone else suggested I wrap the burn in cling film. But I have to say that just reminded me of the clip in the Full Monty and so I declined that advice.
You will be pleased to know the burn has gone down quite a bit. No blistering, although the heat from my arm could give the oven a run for it's money!!

Various websites suggest some crazy things - I think I have chosen the most sensible and it's all just a starter ( aha... a starter!) for you guys to adapt, as I have NO IDEA!

Treasure Chest Vegetable Nuggets served with Chips or Mash and Peas or Beans

Cabin Boy Tom’s Tortilla Wrap. Choose from Tuna, Cheese and Ham or Cheese. Served
with a Side Salad and Tortilla Chips.

Seafarers rations
Go for rough and ready foods that kids can eat with their hands, like the pirates did – chicken drumsticks, pizza slices and hotdogs, which you can turn into boats by spearing a wooden skewer through a piece of paper to make a sail.

Fabulous Food
One of the big advantages of throwing a pirate party is that pirates aren't too picky, and you can serve up pretty much anything you like, as long as you call it by the right name. So hot soup becomes black bart broth, good old stew becomes salmagundi, the pirate's favourite, and fish n' chips will always go down well, as long as you claim it came straight from the sea!

PS these are not cures for burns - they are recipe ideas!!!

You had me worried for a minute. Especially the wooden skewer!!!

Thanks for the help. You have way too much time on your hands to be surfing for this info though. Hahahaha

You took the words out of my mouth, Fiona - she loves a good google!!!!

Am glad I only got to see the onions and not the cling film!, particularly if it went as far as the Full Monty!

I'm a quick googler! If I can't find what I'm looking for in about 30 secs, I'm off!

BURN UPDATE

Dry, very red and sore!

Don't pick it - it'll go septic.

Actually, how clean was the oven? Not being funny, but ( and I know I'm me and you're you) I have burned myself on my oven before and it's gone very bad for me

It looked OK, but who knows what lurks beneath!

I will keep an eye on it and thanks for the warning. I feel another dream coming on!!!!
